what could amaze old ozzie?
that so many we knew for so long within dubdom are now living happy lives in freedom.
the common experience is seeing the borg "caught out" on one thing, and then, bingo!
Hey Ozzie!
I shoulda guessed you would've put this post up after our late evening dinner last night. It was definetely great to see you and Mrs Ozzie. My other half thought the two of you were just wonderful! And the pizza was fantastic!!
It's funny how people leave the Watchtower and are then surprised to see that life is even more wonderful outside than from within the cult. It's definitely got to do with the years of conditioning that we have to grow through. Especially us that were brought up within the confines of the watchtower. Everything I was told about the real world had a negative spin on it. Well I am SO THRILLED THAT I AM OUT and living a life that's positive and fulfilling.
Well I'm off, talk to ya'll later.
And again... on behalf of myself and my girl, thanks for the wonderful evening ozzie!!
Cheers

i think that i read somewhere that jws believe that the magi who followed the star were 'evil' .
is that the case - if so how did they figure that?
paduan
Somebody correct me if I'm wrong,
But basically the JW's believe that the Magi were astrologers and since they believe that astrology is satanic they believe that the magi were being lead and misguided by satan.

47 for me folks.. :)
i was reading through some old quotes at the quotes.jehovahswitnesses.com site, and had something of an epiphany.
it is simultaneously revealing and revolting, and i'd like to share it.. what the society expects of its members.
the society expects its members to live and *die* for their teachings [yes, everyone here knows it - the society expects you do die for their teachings if necessary].. and, at the same time as you lie there dying for their beliefs, expects you to accept (?joyfully?
Since when did being rational matter to the watchtower.
Forget about rationality, logic, common sense. The watchtower's focus is on obediance, humility and submission. It's just satanic to think outside of the watchtower.
What kills me is that if you ask any dub whether they are open minded and they will answer 'yes' convincingly. And at the same time they are the "masters of ignorance." Whenever they come across an issue which is irrelevant to the watchtower's agenda or one that doesn't have a simple answer which the watchtower has already addressed, they dismiss it as not important and just turn a blind eye to the whole matter.
Without the bitter, baby, the sweet wouldn't be as sweet.
this thought often crosses my mind.... what happens when you reach the end of the universe?
if you believe god created the universe, then surely there is something more than the universe.
if anybody knows of any links to articles on the subject, please post.
You cannot reach the end of the universe...

there are so many good brews out there and so many countries that produce them.which are your favs?here are a few of mine.. canada: kokanee, canadian, keiths, blue.
german beer: holsten,becks,diebels,lowenbrau,flensburger pils.
scotland: belhaven best,tennants.
mmmmmmm CORONA!!!
Aussie beers are very over-rated by the way..especially that tasmanian shite... think it's called cascade.
Personally... I think wine is the go... aussie wines are simply splendid. Anyone not living in oz should come for a holiday here just to taste our wines... (the beach's and women are pretty good too..teehee)
